Oranges vs. toilet paper: the battle is on.
The classic tradition of political sports bets continues as the University of Central Florida and Auburn University face off in the 2018 Peach Bowl, with U.S. Reps. Stephanie Murphy, D-Winter Park, and Mike Rogers, R-Alabama, making a friendly wager on their home teams.
If UCF wins, according to the statement from Murphy’s office, Rogers must deliver a bucket of Florida oranges to Murphy’s office while carrying a “classic” UCF football helmet.
What constitutes a classic helmet wasn’t mentioned, though options as found on the exhaustive site “The Helmet Project” include the one with a Pegasus from 1981-82, the map of the state of Florida used from 1985 to 1995, or the one used during UCF's game in Dublin in 2014 that included a "pot of gold" and two "shamrocks.
