While USF sought its first American Athletic Conference victory, UCF senior guard Matt Williams chased NCAA history for 32 magical minutes.
Williams, an Orlando Jones High School alum, electrified CFE Arena with a historic 11 3-pointers en route to a career high 38 points to help down the struggling Bulls 86-64 Tuesday night. Most of the announced crowd of 5,765 gave the senior a standing ovation when he retired to the bench with 3 1/2 minutes left in regulation.
Williams bested the school record by three and set a new league record for single-game 3-pointers made.
