UCF coach George O'Leary said doctors cleared Justin Holman to play at Tulane, but the veteran signal caller did not make the trip to New Orleans.
Holman, a junior, fractured his right index finger during the first drive against Stanford Sept. 12. He was projected to miss two to four weeks.
It's unclear if Holman will be ready to compete against UConn this upcoming Saturday, which would mark the fourth week since the injury.
"I think it's more day-to-day now than week-to-week, so we'll see how it progresses," UCF quarterbacks coach Danny Barrett said Wednesday.
