Former UCF coordinator wants no part of "national championship" rings, but he kept the bonus

Running off at the typewriter …

You expect immature college football players to occasionally post stupid stuff on social media but not bright, innovative coaches like former UCF and current Nebraska Cornhuskers offensive coordinator Troy Walters.

Walters, it seems, has turned into a bit of hypocrite in the aftermath of receiving a national-championship ring from UCF earlier this week.

Walters is among the nine Scott Frost assistant coaches who received the national-championship rings (and $300,000 in bonuses) from UCF as a “thank you” for coaching the team to a perfect 13-0 season.
