College football teams throughout Florida locked in the majority of their 2021 recruiting classes on Wednesday, the first day of the early signing period. The Gators and the Hurricanes were the biggest winners while others have room to improve.
The Gators had a great early National Signing Day, putting together the No. 8 recruiting class in the nation, according to 247Sports composite rankings, despite months of COVID-19 recruiting restrictions. Fortunately for the Gators, they had taken huge steps toward filling their 2021 class before the coronavirus pandemic hit. UF focused on shoring up a defense that has been much maligned this season, signing five-star cornerback Jason Marshall and four-star safety Corey Collier.
