Before every game this season, UCF cornerback D.J. Killings inserts a sliver of paper inside his spikes with a different Bible scripture.
It was a tradition he started years ago at the encouragement of his younger brother, Baryn Killings. D.J. Killings resumed the pregame ritual this season after taking a break last year.
Some might call it luck that Killings caught multiple interceptions during a single game for the first time in his life while wearing Bible scriptures at the bottom of his feet. He picked off Houston's No. 1 offense twice last Saturday, bringing the Knights' total number of interceptions this season to nine through eight games.
