As much as they were excited about being third-round selections in the NFL Draft late Friday night, former UCF stars Tre’Quan Smith and Jordan Akins were equally disturbed that teammate and inspirational leader Shaquem Griffin fell to Day 3 of the annual pro football swap meet.
“If he had two hands, he would definitely have been chosen in the first round, which is not fair at all,” said Akins, a tight end who was the No. 98 overall selection by the Houston Texans as the draft wrapped up its second day. “Whoever picks him, they have a diamond in the rough and he will shine.
