UCF Brandon Mahan scored a career-high 32 points, leading the Knights to a 86-74 win over No. 15 Florida State Saturday night in Tallahassee.
FSU was paced by M.J. Walker, who was 6-of-13 shooting for 22 points. Anthony Polite and RaiQuan Gray finished with 14 points apiece.
UCF made the most of its 13-day break ahead of the FSU game and played aggressive defense, forcing the Seminoles to finish with more turnovers (14) than assists (11). Mahan was 10 of 13 from the field, helping pace the Knights.
“Tonight, this team had enough time to really study our strengths and weaknesses and I thought they did a good job of exploiting errors in our game that we need to continue to improve in,” FSU coach Leonard Hamilton said.
