What better place than the Big Apple for a wrong-headed sports writer to make the Big Apology for something I wrote when UCF athletics director Danny White hired Dawkins last March. It might go down as one of the most ill-advised columns I’ve written since I questioned Jeremy Foley’s hiring of Billy Donovan or compared the Magic’s hiring of former hockey player John Weisbrod as general manager to the Miracle on Ice.
