The American Athletic Conference is reportedly changing protocol for marching bands and spirits squads for the upcoming football season due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Some of the changes include visiting teams not traveling with bands and spirit squads and eliminating halftime performances by home bands, according to a report by collegemarching.com.
A spokesman for the AAC said the league had no comment about the report and added the conference will announce protocol for the 2020 football season at a later date.
The COVID-19 outbreak is forcing conferences to consider sweeping changes to game day rules and schools are still working out the logistics of whether to have fans in the stands when the college football seasons kicks off.
