UAB sits atop C-USA after 77-67 win over Middle Tennessee

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- Dirk Williams scored 19 points and Alabama-Birmingham beat Middle Tennessee 77-67 on Sunday night to move alone atop the Conference USA standings.

UAB (22-5, 12-2) bounced back from an 85-76 loss at Louisiana Tech on Feb. 13 that had snapped a four-game win streak. The Blazers have matched a program record with 12 conference wins.

Giddy Potts and Quavius Copeland had 13 points apiece to lead Middle Tennessee (18-8, 10-4), which has lost five-straight games against the Blazers.

William Lee, a sophomore, chipped in 14 points and blocked two shots to total 137 for his career -- tying Cameron Moore for second place in program history.
