Alex Jones-BlazeRadio GM What happened? Middle Tennessee, the runner-up in Conference USA last year, defeated the Old Dominion Monarchs yesterday 55-53. The 2nd seed Blue Raiders, although shooting a dismal 36 percent from the field, played excellent defense and held Old Dominion star guard Trey Freeman to 17 points on 30 percent shooting, compared to the 42 points he had the night before in the win againzt Western Kentucky. This is a big win for the Blue Raiders as they got a chance to make up for the loss they took in the C-USA Championship game last year against UAB, and they also are guaranteed a spot in the NCAA Tournament.
