Houston Rockets guard Jason Terry told KRIV-TV on Sunday that he has been told by UAB that he is no longer being considered for the school's head coaching vacancy.
"I'm encouraged," Terry told KRIV-TV before the Rockets' game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. "It was my first time [to interview]. The AD told me I had a good interview."
Terry said he interviewed for the UAB job on Thursday.
The UAB job opened when Jerrod Haase left to become the head coach at Stanford. UAB finished the year at 26-7, first in Conference USA, before losing to BYU in the first round of the NIT.
