Hot shooting propels women's basketball past FIU

On a warm Sunday afternoon, the UAB women’s basketball team’s hot shooting propelled the Blazers past conference rival Florida International University.

UAB led for a total of 36 minutes and 11 seconds in the game, while FIU led for just 55 seconds. The Blazers traded blows in the first quarter, and at the media timeout, the team was up 8-7. After FIU took a one-point lead, UAB went on a 10-4 run to close the first quarter, stretching their lead to 17-13.
In the second quarter, the women extended their lead to ten.
