In their first meeting since WKU ended UAB’s Conference-USA championship hopes in 2016, UAB scored 44 points in the paint to defeat WKU on Thursday, Jan. 12.Junior forward William Lee led all scorers in the game with 19 points, followed by Tosin Mehinti who scored 17 points.
“I was very pleased with the win tonight against a very good opponent. I thought the first half defensively, we were as good as we had been all year. It was twenty minutes of solid defense against a very solid opponent," men's basketball head coach Rob Ehsan said.
