On Thursday, Feb. 9, UAB Men’s Basketball returned to Bartow Arena to face off against the No. 10 Conference USA ranked University of North Carolina at Charlotte 49ers.
UAB came out of the gate slow, as they did not hit any shots for two minutes and 30 seconds. It was not until the 13 minute and seven second mark that UAB grabbed its first lead of the game on a layup by sophomore guard Deion Lavender.
The 49ers, who were the second best 3-point shooting team in the conference, attempted to catch up using a 3-pointer, but could not pass UAB as a field goal from Cokley jumped the Blazers ahead.
