JOPLIN, Mo. — Senior Nicole Lee took fourth in the women's 5K to lead The University of Tulsa women's cross country team to a first-place finish at the Southern Stampede on Saturday morning. The No. 21-ranked men's team placed 15th.
The TU women placed all five scorers among the top 17 finishers to register 39 points, to put the Golden Hurricane ahead of Dallas Baptist (119), Oklahoma Baptist (134), Wichita State (139) and Arkansas (194).
Lee crossed the finish line with a time of 17:29.87 for the second-fastest 5K of her career. She was just ahead of sophomore Ashley Barnes, who finished fifth at 17:31.
