TULSA, Okla. – Playing in her final home game, senior Emily Watson allowed just one hit and struck out 14 as Tulsa closed the regular-season with a 4-0 win over UConn on Sunday afternoon at Collins Family Softball Complex.
Watson struck out the first eight batters that she faced and retired the first 10 hitters before an infield single with one out in the fourth. She then sat down the final seven that she faced, six of which were retired on strikes.
Meanwhile, Rylie Spell led the offense for the Golden Hurricane (30-23, 10-11), who now has recorded at least 30 wins in 17 consecutive seasons, by going 1-for-2 with a pair of RBIs.
