PROVIDENCE, R.I. — For the 12th time in her career and the third time this season, The University of Tulsa's Emily Watson has been named the American Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
The senior helped TU to a sweep of ECU last weekend by going 2-0 in the circle with a save and she recorded 23 strikeouts in 15 scoreless innings. Pirates batters hit just .157 off her during the three-game set, totaling just eight hits.
Watson started the weekend with her fifth shutout of the season as she allowed just three hits and a walk while striking out 11.
