TULSA, Okla. – Tulsa sophomore pitcher Emily Watson and junior outfielder Maddie Withee were named the American Athletic Conference Pitcher and Player of the Week, respectively, the league office announced Monday.
The duo led the Golden Hurricane to a 5-0 weekend at the UTSA Classic in San Antonio. Watson went 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA and posted 26 strikeouts in 12.0 innings, while Withee batted .450 and drove in 11 runs at the plate.
Watson, a native of Edmond, Okla., went 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA and tied the Tulsa single game strikeout record against UTSA.
