No. 1-seed Virginia won its second consecutive NCAA Men's Tennis Championship on Tuesday night with a 4-1 win over the No. 11 Oklahoma Sooners at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
Lightning and rain forced the match to be moved indoors with a delayed start time of one hour to 7:00 p.m. It was Virginia's third NCAA crown in the last four years, and the fifth time in the last six seasons that the Cavaliers played in the championship match. Virginia became the 17th No. 1 seed since 1977 to win the national title, while Oklahoma was making its third consecutive finals appearance.
