TULSA, Okla. –– A pair of Tulsa Golden Hurricane football student-athletes earned American Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors today, it was announced by the league office. Cornerback Reggie Robinson II was named the Defensive Player of the Week and punter Thomas Bennett earned the Special Teams Player of the Week award.
Robinson II, a 6'1" senior from Cleburne, Texas, totaled 5 tackles, all solos, 3 pass breakups and a key interception that led to Tulsa's game-winning field goal in a 34-31 come-from-behind win over UCF on Friday night.
Robinson's interception came at the 6:59 mark of the 4th quarter when the score was tied 31-31, and he returned it to the UCF 18-yard line.
