TULSA, Okla. – The American Athletic Conference announced today the individual sport winners for the league's Female Scholar Athlete of the Year awards.
Tulsa rower Hannah Vissers and softball All-America pitcher Emily Watson earned the league's Female Scholar Athlete of the Year honor for their particular sport. Each winner receives a $2,000 scholarship which may be applied to graduate or professional studies. The male award winners will be announced on Wednesday.
Vissers, a senior from Kingston, Ontario, Canada, has maintained a 3.918 grade point average in sociology. She earned academic all-conference honors in each of her first three seasons, while earning Dean's List honors for eight semesters.
