The University of Tulsa rowing team added three signees, including Sophia Camara, Sarah Hagkull and Bayley Macdonald, to the 2016-17 roster, as announced today by head coach Kevin Harris. The Golden Hurricane now has 16 incoming student-athletes.
Camara comes to Tulsa from Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, as a sophomore transfer. She is a competitor for Clube de Regatas do Flamenco, which rows on the same body of water on which the 2016 Olympic Regatta will be held, and is coached by Alexandre Clarke and Leonardo Cortes. Besides having won many medals and titles in regional regattas around Brazil and in South America, Camara will come to Tulsa as a two-time member of the Brazilian National Team.
