FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The University of Tulsa track and field squad claimed two event wins in the team's outdoor season opener at the Arkansas Spring Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
On the women's side, freshman Jaidah McCallon earned a first-place finish in the open section of the 800 meters, going 2:14.68 to win the event by more than three full seconds.
Thrower Baylor Reese also tallied gold in the meet, picking up a 42.35-meter throw in the discus to dominate the field and earn first in the event.
Along with the two top finishers, Tulsa notched 12 top-five placings in the two-day meet, highlighted by a strong TU race in the invitational section of a heated 800-meter run.
