Birmingham, Ala. –– The University of Tulsa men's track team leads after day one of American Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships with 50 points, while Houston is in second with 37 and UConn is in third with 32.5.
The men's weight throw belonged to Tulsa freshman Aleks Rapp, the top thrower in The American this season, as he took home the championship with a meet record 20.02m.
The men's 5,000-meter run was dominated by Tulsa as Golden Hurricane runners claimed the top four spots in the event and all under the previous meet record.
