ORLANDO, Fla. – On Friday night, The University of Tulsa men's and women's track and field teams are in third and seventh place, respectively, through the second day of competition in the 2016 American Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The championships are held at the UCF Soccer and Track Complex in Orlando, Fla., and are set to run through Sunday, May 15.
The women's team picked up two top-five finishes on the day, while the men's team registered one top-five finish.
Freshman Cecilya Johnson led the way for the women's team finishing runner-up in the women's discus throw with a distance of 53.
