Springville, Utah – The Tulsa women's golf team won its first season-opening tournament in nearly 30 years with a victory on Tuesday at the Hobble Creek Fall Classic. Trailing by two strokes at the start of the day, the Golden Hurricane made up those two strokes and claimed a two-stroke victory at the par-71 Hobble Creek Fall Classic.
The last time Tulsa won a season-opening tournament came in the fall of 1989 when the Hurricane won the Dick McGuire Invitational.
Tulsa carded a final round six-over par 290 total score and finished with a 54-hole total of 877, holding off host Utah Valley by two strokes.
