BROKEN ARROW, Okla. –– The University of Tulsa head women's golf coach Annie Young captured the Women's Oklahoma Golf Association (WOGA) State Amateur Championship on Thursday at the Golf Club of Oklahoma.
Young adds the WOGA amateur crown to her trophy case. She is a two-time Utah Women's State Amateur Champion, the 2002 USGA Women's Amateur Publinks Champion and was a member of the 2004 Curtis Cup Championship Team.
Tulsa's third-year head coach went 4 up against Sydney Hermann from Putnam City after nine holes Thursday morning. She sank a 30-foot birdie putt on hole 13 to extend her lead to 5 up before closing out the match on the 14th with an 18-foot birdie.
