DALLAS, Texas – The University of Tulsa women's tennis squad continued its strong start at the Red and Blue Challenge, hosted by SMU, picking up five singles wins and four doubles victories on day two in Texas.
Doubles kicked off the day at 11 a.m. CT, as ITA Central Region doubles champions Martina Okalova and Vera Ploner took down SMU's Vivienne Kulicke/Ana Perez-Lopez in a back-and-forth match, 7-5.
Shura Poppe and newcomer Manon Meulenberg followed accordingly, defeating Emma Pieroni and Tiffany Hollebeck in identical fashion, 7-5.
In Tulsa's doubles matches against Wichita State, Okalova/Ploner once again showed why they're one of the nation's best duos, taking down Fatima Bizhukova and Marta Bellucco, 6-3.
