WICHITA, Kan. — Aleks Rapp claimed conference silver in the men's hammer throw on Friday, launching a school record 61.24-meter (200-11 feet) mark for eight team points on day one of the American Outdoor Championships at Cessna Stadium.
After the first day in Wichita, both the Tulsa men and women sit in third-place overall with 21 and 14 team points, respectively.
On Rapp's final toss of the event, the Canada native launched TU's first 200-foot throw in school history to secure his second-place finish, shattering Alex Lybarger's 197-3 foot distance set in 2015.
