The St. Louis Rams released running back Trey Watts on Monday.
The St. Louis Rams released running back Trey Watts on Monday at the conclusion of his one-week roster exemption after serving a four-game suspension to start the season.
“His exemption expired this afternoon,” Rams coach Jeff Fisher told reporters at his weekly day-after game press conference. “So, we’ll release him and we have every intention to bring him back to practice squad tomorrow.”
Watts, in his second season after making the Rams as an undrafted free agent a year ago out of Tulsa, appeared in 14 games as a rookie.
