TULSA, Okla. – In the final scheduled match of the regular season, The University of Tulsa men's tennis team defeated American Athletic Conference foe UCF, 7-0, Sunday afternoon at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. The No. 24 Golden Hurricane finished the 2016 regular season with an overall 15-12 record.
Tulsa dominated doubles play as freshman Dominic Bechard and senior Dylan McCloskey (No. 2) blanked Reece Acree and Tyler Pate in a 6-0 decision. Senior Matthew Kirby and freshman Okkie Kellerman (No. 1) clinched the doubles point when they defeated Chris Barrus and Inaki Espindola, 6-2, to give the Hurricane a 1-0 match lead going into singles play.
