TULSA, Okla. – University of Tulsa men's tennis senior Majed Kilani fell in a back-and-forth match to tournament No. 1 seed Nuno Borges of Mississippi State, 7-6(5), 6-0, on Saturday in the round of 16 at the Saint Francis Health System ITA All-American Championships.
Borges entered the day ranked No. 2 in the Oracle ITA preseason singles rankings, while Kilani was slotted at 39th in the NCAA.
The first set looked evenly match between the standouts, with each side going back and forth to a 6-all score. Kilani looked strong on serve, but Borges was able to edge out the Tunisia native in the first set, 7-6(5).
