TULSA, Okla. – Former University of Tulsa softball player Julie Kernen earned an American Athletic Conference Commissioner's Postgraduate Leadership Award, the league announced today.
Kernen, a native of St. Louis, Mo., graduated from Tulsa last spring with a 3.97 grade-point average in speech language pathology, and is pursuing a master's degree in speech pathology from the university. She was a Capital One Second-Team Academic All-American, American Athletic Conference First Team and National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Mideast Region selection last spring.
Kernen was a member of the Phi Eta Sigma national honor society at Tulsa and was a seven-time selection to the President's Honor Roll, maintaining a 4.
