WICHITA, Kan. — Senior Grey Howard capped off a decorated conference career on Sunday, claiming the 800-meter AAC title in 1:50.51 on the final day of the American Outdoor Championships at Cessna Stadium.
In the final standings, the Golden Hurricane men secured fifth overall with 79 team points, while the Tulsa women placed seventh with 53 points at the outdoor conference meet.
After earning a runner-up finish a season ago, Howard earned his first career conference gold, capturing Tulsa's first men's 800-meter title since 2015. Teammate Robert Tully finished closely behind at the line, claiming third in 1:51.
