Former TU All-American Chris O’Hare Qualifies for the Olympics

Former University of Tulsa track and field standout and six-time All-American Chris O'Hare will compete in the 1,500-meter run at the 2016 Olympics later this summer in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, for his native Great Britain.

O'Hare qualified for the Olympics by finishing with the second-best time in the 1,500-meter run at the British Athletics Championships in Birmingham, England, over the weekend. On Sunday, O'Hare ran the 1,500m with a time of 3:34.68, just .27 behind top-finisher Charlie Grice. The top two qualifying marks in each event earned a place on the Olympic team.

O'Hare, a native of West Linton, Scotland, attended Tulsa from 2009-13, and won the NCAA Championship in the mile run at the 2012 Indoor Championships.
