STILLWATER, Okla. — Freshman pitcher Chenise Delce recorded nine strikeouts and Tulsa scored five runs in the top of the seventh to defeat Arkansas, 5-0, on Thursday evening in the opening game of the NCAA Stillwater Regional.
With the victory, the Golden Hurricane (36-18) advance to the winner's bracket to face either No. 13 overall seed Oklahoma State (39-14) or BYU (29-24) at 12 p.m. on Friday, May 17.
Rylie Spell led the TU offense by going 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, while Julia Hollingsworth also collected a pair of hits and drove in a run.
