Junior Shura Poppe and sophomore Marina Davtyan each picked up a win on Tuesday in the Singles Consolation Qualifying Draw at the Saint Francis Health System ITA Women's All-American Championships. The women's qualifying draws are being played at the Case Tennis Center at LaFortune Park.
Davtyan upset 55th-ranked Tatum Rice of Arkansas in straight sets 6-3, 6-3. Poppe rallied from a set down to defeat Purdue's Ena Babic in three-set 1-6, 6-3, 6-3.
The two would then face ranked opponents in their second round matches Poppe pushed No. 89 Kaitlin Staines of Tennessee, but fell 7-6, 3-6.
