UCF DE Shaquem Griffin excels despite losing left hand at four years old; injuries; other notes

The first time Willie Fritz got to watch UCF linebacker Shaquem Griffin on tape, the Tulane coach noted how much of an impact he was making before noticing something that surprised him even more.

Griffin was born with an ailment that caused him to lose his left hand at the age of four, and despite his condition, the redshirt junior has become one of the best players on his team and one of the best pass rushers in the American Athletic Conference.

The release came on the same day the team added former LSU linebacker Lamar Louis to the practice squad.
