Tulane coach Willie Fritz has touted Donnie Lewis and Parry Nickerson as two of the best cornerbacks in the American Athletic Conference all season and the duo showed just how impactful they can be in Saturday's 41-39, four-overtime win over Louisiana-Lafayette.
Lewis, a redshirt sophomore, ended the night with eight tackles, two pass breakups and the first interception of his career. Redshirt junior Parry Nickerson finished with three tackles, a pass breakup and an interception.
Nickerson is one of nine players in the AAC that has more than one interception this season and he is No. 1 in the nation with 133 return yards following his two interceptions this year.
