Tulane puts on record-setting scoring barrage in 66-21 win over Southern

After only scoring three points in last week's season-opening loss to Wake Forest, it seemed like it would take more time than expected for Willie Fritz's new offense to work at Tulane.

That didn't last very long.

The Green Wave (1-1) set a new mark for most points ever scored at Yulman Stadium in the first half of its game against Southern (0-2) and ran away with a record-shattering 66-21 victory on Saturday night.

It was the first time Tulane hit the 60-point mark since 1998 and the team's 437 rushing yards was the third most in a single game in school history.
