The American Athletic Conference released its preseason men's basketball coaches poll on Monday at the conference's media day and Tulane was picked to finish last in the AAC for the third year in a row.
Cincinnati was chosen as the favorite to win the AAC after receiving one more first-place vote (six) than second-place UConn (five). SMU was picked to finish third in the conference followed by Houston, Memphis, Temple, East Carolina, Central Florida, Tulsa, South Florida and Tulane.
Cincinnati guard Troy Caupain and Memphis forward Dedric Lawson were also chosen as the AAC's preseason co-players of the year and UConn guard Alterique Gilbert was tabbed as the AAC's preseason rookie of the year.
