Tulane hoping first-year coach Travis Jewett provides a 'boost' going into the 2017 season

Tulane baseball coach Travis Jewett held a team meeting in the day's leading up to the Green Wave's 2017 season opener and asked his players how nervous they were about the first game of the year.

Just about every one of the players responded that they weren't nervous at all, but Jewett gave the team a much more honest answer.

"Well, I am," Jewett said. "It's not scared, it's nervous...We've just got to get our butterflies into formation, step out, take a deep breath and be in control of our emotions."

Jewett, who is heading into his first season with the Green Wave, knows that Tulane will be going into 2017 with high expectations after winning the American Athletic Conference last season with a 41-21 record that was capped off with a trip to an NCAA regional.
