Freshman Sal Gozzo drove in four runs and freshman starter Chase Solesky was strong in 6.0 innings to lead Tulane baseball to a 9-6 win at Memphis Friday evening at FedEx Park.
The victory for the Green Wave (26-29, 12-11 American) evened the series against the Tigers (29-26, 8-15 American) with one game left in the regular season. Tulane will try to clinch its fourth series win in American Athletic Conference play when the teams conclude the regular season at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Senior Lex Kaplan gave Tulane a 2-0 lead when he homered to lead off the game, then hustled home on a wild pitch after doubling to start the third inning.
