Tulane falters late, falls 69-66 to Texas State in overtime

Texas State utilized some clutch shooting from guards Bobby Conley and Kavin Gilder-Tilbury to slip away with a 69-66 overtime win over Tulane at Fogelman Arena in Devlin Fieldhouse on Friday afternoon.

After struggling in the first half, the Green Wave (3-9) came out playing with a high level of energy to open the second half and immediately went on a 10-3 run to to grab a 34-29 lead.

The Bobcats (7-5) crept their way back into the game and both sides traded the lead 11 times over the final 20 minutes of regulation.

Tulane forward Melvin Frazier banked in a contested layup with 1:38 left in the game to give his team a 58-57 lead, then he poked the ball away from Texas State guard Nijal Pearson to force a turnover, giving the ball back to the Green Wave with 38 seconds remaining.
