Tulane falters in second half, falls 95-75 to No. 6 North Carolina in season opener

Tulane hung in it for most of the night, but No. 6 North Carolina pulled away in the second half for a 95-75 win in both team's season opener on Friday at the Smoothie King Center.

The Green Wave (0-1) shot well from the perimeter the entire night, making 12 of their 28 shots from three-point range, but the Tar Heels (1-0) dominated the paint with their size and strength.

North Carolina dominated Tulane in the paint the entire night and won the rebounding battle 49 to 37.

Tulane forward Cameron Reynolds led the Green Wave with a career-high 21 points, which included him going 5-of-6 from three-point range.
