Through out most of the game it appeared Tulane (4-12) was headed toward its second shutout of the season as seven Green Wave pitchers combined to allow just three hits through the first eight innings.
However Nicholls State (9-8) was able to tie the game in the ninth. But with two outs in the top of the 10th, Tulane designated hitter Jarret DeHart homered to right field off the first pitch he saw to give the Green Wave a 3-2 lead.
"I was was just trying to get a good pitch and put a good swing on it," DeHart said.
