Tulane defensive tackle Tanzel Smart confirmed on Friday that he was officially invited to play in this season's Senior Bowl, which will be played in Mobile, Ala. on Jan. 28, 2017.
Smart has been a force on the Green Wave defensive line the entire season, racking up 56 tackles (13.5 for loss), 4.5 sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
Smart becomes the 46th player in Tulane history to accept an invitation to the Super Bowl and the first since current Washington Redskins wide receiver Ryan Grant went in 2014.
