Tulane baseball tops LSU, earns No. 1 play on SC Top Ten

No. 27 Tulane (18-7) topped instate rival LSU (16-8) 7-1 Tuesday night for the Green Wave's first win in Baton Rouge since 2007.

Tulane cruised to its victory on a strong pitching performance, seven hits and an impressive defensive showing highlighted by preseason All-American junior shortstop Stephen Alemais' outstanding double play. With his in-motion, behind-the-back-toss to second baseman junior Jake Willsey to lead to the 2nd and 3rd outs of the inning, Alemais notched the Wave the No. 1 play on SportsCenter Top Ten.
